Six killed in Burundi church massacre

Saturday, June 18, 2005

Rebels from the Hutu-extremist “Forces Nationales de Liberation” have shot dead six churchgoers in Muhuta district, Bujumbura-Rural, according to army spokesman Adolphe Manirakiza.

“The first criminal attack was committed in one church at Muhuta district where a group of FNL fighters fired in the church and killed six people including a pastor. They also injured seven others”, Manirakiza said.

He said the rebels shot dead a local government official and his brother and also kidnapped a policeman in the same district.

“We don’t know yet why these people were killed, they may be executed because they refused to adhere to the FNL ideology, as the area where they have been killed is an FNL stronghold.”

Some 300,000 people have been killed since the fighting began in 1993.

Fresh talks between the government and the FNL have raised hopes among diplomats that Burundi can finally lift one of its last big barriers to peace.

Its leader Agathon Rwasa and Burundi President, Domitien Ndayizeye signed on May 15 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, a cessation of hostilities deal seen as a significant step toward finally bringing the rebels into the peace process.

But the rebels and the army have clashed sporadically since the truce.

Global study dispels some myths about sexual behaviour

Global study dispels some myths about sexual behaviour

Wednesday, November 1, 2006

The first comprehensive global study of sexual behaviour, published today as part of The Lancet’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Online Series, found that people aren’t losing their virginity at ever younger ages, married people have the most sex, and there is no firm link between promiscuity and sexually transmitted diseases.

Experts say data gleaned from the study will be useful not only in dispelling popular myths about sexual behaviour, but in shaping policies that will help improve sexual health across the world. Researchers looked at previously published studies on sexual behaviour in the last decade.

Professor Kaye Wellings, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicines, and her colleagues analysed data on sexual behaviour in the last decade from 59 countries.

The report also shows no support for the common notion that there is a culture of multiple sexual partners in countries with poor sexual health. Multiple sexual partners, it turns out, are more common in industrialised than in developing nations.

The study also found that contrary to popular belief, sexual activity is not starting earlier. Nearly everywhere, men and women have their first sexual experiences in their late teens; from 15 to 19 years old — with generally younger ages for women than for men, especially in developing countries.

“A single woman is more able to negotiate safe sex in certain circumstances than a married woman,” said Paul van Look, director of Reproductive Health and Research at the World Health Organisation, who was unconnected to the study and points out that “married women in Africa and Asia are often threatened by unfaithful husbands who frequent prostitutes”.

There is much greater equality between women and men with regard to the number of sexual partners in rich countries than in poor countries, the study found. This imbalance has significant public health implications. Because of the diversity of sexual habits worldwide, Wellings warns that no single approach to sexual health will work everywhere. “There are very different economic, religious and social rules governing sexual conduct across the world,” Wellings said.

For example, men and women in Australia, Britain, France and the United States tend to have an almost equal number of sexual partners. In contrast, in Cameroon, Haiti, and Kenya, men tend to have multiple partners while women tend only to have one.

Along with other industrialised countries, Australia was one in which having two or more sexual partners in the past year was comparatively common.

Single men and women in Africa were fairly sexually inactive: only two-thirds of them reported recent sexual activity, compared with three-quarters of their counterparts in developed countries.

In what researchers said was proof the sexual double standard was still strong, more men than women reported having more than one partner.

“These findings beg the question of who the men are having sex with,” they wrote.

Italy had one of the lowest percentages of men who had sex before age 15 (4 per cent), compared to 18 per cent in the United States and 30 per cent in Brazil and the Dominican Republic. The researchers said early initiation was more likely to be non-consensual, unsafe and generally to be regretted later.

The study suggests that unequal treatment of girls and women as the major sexual-health issue.

The researchers call for providing sexual health services to unmarried young women, supplying condoms, decriminalizing commercial sex and homosexual sex, and prosecuting the perpetrators of sexual violence.

Experts say data gleaned from the study will be useful not only in dispelling popular myths about sexual behaviour, but in shaping policies that will help improve sexual health across the world.

“There’s a misperception that there’s a great deal of promiscuity in Africa, which is one of the potential reasons for HIV/AIDS spreading so rapidly,” said van Look

Fewer than half of unmarried non-virgins reported having sex in the past month.

Some of the major findings the survey found were:

 • School-based sexual education delays and does not hasten onset of sexual activity.
 • First sexual experience is often forced or sold.
 • Marriage is no safeguard of sexual health. It is more difficult for married women to negotiate safe sex and condom use than it is for single women.
 • Condom use is increasing, but condom-use rates remain low in many developing countries.
 • Among girls who marry at a very young age, “very early sexual experience within marriage can be coercive and traumatic.”
 • While there is no major trend toward earlier sexual experience, a trend toward later marriage has led to an increase in premarital sex.
 • Public health measures to improve sexual health should focus not only on individual behaviours but also on broader issues such as gender, poverty, and mobility.
 • Public-health messages intended to reduce sexual risk-taking “should respect diversity and preserve choice.”
 • Monogamy is the dominant pattern in most parts of the world. Men report more multiple partnerships than do women. Such men are more likely to live in developed nations.

Fap Turbo Review Will Fap Turbo Forex Trading Engine Leads You To Massive Riches Or Financial Ruin

FAP Turbo Review – Will FAP Turbo Forex Trading Engine Leads You to Massive Riches or Financial Ruin

by

venkatsiddhu

What is the present obsession on using the forex trading robots like the Fap Turbo Forex in trading forex market? Would profits occur on using the Fap Turbo Forex or lead to losses and financial problems? What trading strategy is used in programming its core trading engine and could you depend on it at all to trade?

FAP Turbo Main Trading Core Engine Analyzed

For this question to be answered we need to fairly look at the core of the Fap Turbo Forex – what is that exactly runs the automatic trading robot. The simple reason is – in the software s that involves input, the general principle of “what goes in will come out”, in other means if the main core engine driving Fap Turbo robot is useless piece of garbage, we can only expect no more than that garbage by running the software.

All we know is that the Fap Turbo Forex, as software only attempts to match the new neural technology to derive the decision making in trading the forex. However on what basis does Fap Turbo Forex can take a decision on trading? As a professional trader i will help you to clearly understand it.

Obstacles to Successful Forex Trading

The major issue I have witnessed for successful forex trading in all my years of trading is the hope to create huge profits out of any single trade. Usually a forex trader stays for the trading setup prior to taking a particular trade, as he or she anticipates more profits from that trading setup.

I don t find any fault in them as they are educated to grab the best trading setup as it appears and buy it at low price and sell it at high price. Most of them miss the lowest in doing so by getting in at the time of confirmation of a sighted trading signal say by the lagging moving averages or sequence of candlestick pattern and most exit too late once highest prices are sighted.

As, to verify their signal for selling, they need to pass the time for the confirmation by a series of candlestick bars (for instance 3 lower closing candlestick bars), at this time huge profits will be given back to market itself.

Superior FAP Turbo “Woodpecker” Trading Technique

On the contrary, that I call it “Woodpecker” technique of the trading, which drives Fap Turbo Forex? When you can examine woodpecker at work, then you could see how industrious it is. It doesn’t attempt to peck at bark with all of its strength nor do attempts to take away the largest part of bark at a single go. It doesn t show interest to try the impossible it only removes small bit of bark and does it again and again.

FAP Turbo Captures Consistent Profits Repeatedly

The same technique is followed in the Fap Turbo Forex and programmed into the software to use the forex robot to frequently earn decent profits from the every possible trade consistently. The trading setup is identified by the Fap Turbo Forex in the forex trade of yours, and allows you to get the trade and have profits constantly that are clean and fast with no additional risk of waiting for large profits which don’t arrive when you want.

Back tests and Forward Live Tests for FAP Turbo

This is the reason the Fap Turbo Forex even allows you to forward test and back test live to test its profitability. I observed the records of Fap Turbo Forex showing low profits and also its successes in reaching to the top after every trade in live trading 2 times as profitably as in the 9 years of back-testing.

You will go into trade and come out of trade quickly with the Fap Turbo Forex and it makes sure that you will leave with decent profits that can be accumulated into huge profits. The longer you stay the more risk you have of losing money and Fap Turbo Forex being quick gets you out of trades with profits thus minimizing the risks than any other forex trading robot.

If you look for low risk and many trades that are successful, then be the “Woodpecker” trader. The Fap Turbo forex trading robot with the most advanced technology means you got a forex trading robot that can make good profits when you use it for trading.

Warning: Double Your Money Every Single Month!

Earning consistent profits through Forex while you are away from your computer is possible only with Beginners will have the ability to earn without any knowledge of how Forex works!

Cardiff student union calls for cancellation of lecture by Germaine Greer

Cardiff student union calls for cancellation of lecture by Germaine Greer

Sunday, October 25, 2015

The Cardiff University student union has called for the cancelling of a November lecture by feminist author and academic Germaine Greer, following comments about transgender star Caitlyn Jenner and other trans women that they have labelled ‘transmisogynistic’.

In an online petition, women’s officer Rachael Melhuish asserts that Greer “…has demonstrated time and time again her misogynistic views towards trans women, including continually misgendering trans women and denying the existence of transphobia altogether.”

The petition adds that while debate should be encouraged in universities, Greer’s ‘problematic’ views of trans people, especially trans women were dangerous.

It happens to be an opinion, it’s not a prohibition.

According to The Guardian, in an interview on BBC2’s Newsnight Greer said that Jenner had stolen the limelight from other women in the Kardashian family.

“It seems to me that what was going on there was that he/she [sic] wanted the limelight that the other… members of the family were enjoying and has conquered it, just like that,” Greer said.

According to SameSame.com.au, Greer defended her previous statements denying that trans women were ‘real women’.

Greer stated that she believes she is being pressured not to talk about trans people because of her belief that ‘post-operative’ trans women are not women. “I’m not saying that people should not be allowed to go through that [gender reassignment] procedure,” Greer said.

Greer clarified her position by stating that “It happens to be an opinion, it’s not a prohibition.”

This is not the first instance where Greer’s statements about trans people has come under criticism.

In 2012, New Zealand Lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) advocacy group Queer Avengers ‘glitter bombed’ Greer at a book signing in Wellington. According to SameSame.com.au, the group said at the time: “transphobic feminism is so 20th Century. It wasn’t okay then and it’s not okay now.”

G20 Summit plans to inject US$5tn into economy before 2011

Friday, April 3, 2009

The G20 Summit held in London, England concluded Thursday with an injection into the economy of US$5 trillion by the end of 2010.

Global trade would be supported by $250 billion (169.5 billion pounds). “We are going to act decisively to kickstart international trade. We will ensure availability of at least $250 billion over the next two years,” said Gordon Brown Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The International Monetary Fund IMF will have access to $750bn in resources of which $250bn will support special drawing rights.

Developing countries received $100bn which will be dispensed via Multilateral development banks. Towards this end, the IMF will sell off gold reserves.

China will support the IMF fund by $40bn, the European Union by $100bn, and Japan by $100bn.

There will be increased regulation on banking and credit ratings agencies. There was a commitment to clamp down on hedge funds, tax havens and toxic assets. To restore consumer confidence in the financial sector, a new Financial Stability Board will be initiated internationally. There would be new policies implemented to control pay and bonuses paid to the heads of banks and corporations.

The G20 leaders were adverse to protectionism and rallied to support international trade and investment.

The Leaders’ statement said, “We reaffirm the commitment made in Washington: to refrain from raising new barriers to investment or to trade in goods and services, imposing new export restrictions, or implementing World Trade Organization (WTO) inconsistent measures to stimulate exports.”

Eoin O’Malley, senior adviser on international trade at BusinessEurope, said “The measure also needs to be part of wider package to avoid protectionism and conclude the Doha round which will stimulate trade growth. The key point now is to move forward with Doha. The key now is implementation. G20 governments must act quickly to provide this finance to companies that need it urgently.”

Long shots dashed hopes of favorites in Derby race

Monday, May 9, 2005

Saturday’s running of the Kentucky Derby left favorites in dry churned up dust, as speedster Spanish Chestnut forced an early pace that only long-shot horses fully answered. The two top finishers, Giacomo and Closing Argument ran past race favorites Bellamy Road and hopeful Bandini, who came off the starting gate well and into the first turn. But they faded under a blistering early pace that at the half-mile pole was second fastest in race history.

Only Afleet Alex, showing at third, applied salve to the wounded crowd of 154,000 ticket-tearing fans. Betting for this year’s race totaled a record $103.3 million counting both on- and off-track wagering. A 2 dollar wager on the winning horse Giacomo paid $102.60.

TV viewership in top metropolitan markets was down only slightly from the previous year, which considering the wagering shows no lack of interest in the race:

Win: Giacomo $102.60
Place: Closing Argument: $45.80
Show: Afleet Alex: $19.80

Getting Botox In The Woodlands

Submitted by: Boricua

It is now becoming quite popular to get Botox in the Woodlands, since this is absolutely the favored method of facial rejuvenation. The most likely reason is because of the fact that it offers people a safe way to significantly reduce the wrinkles that can sometimes appear in the forehead and eye areas as well as between the eyebrows. This procedure is not surgical, and all it really consists of is a simple injection into the muscles that create the wrinkles. The drug used for the injection is called Botulinium Toxin Type A. Some people may be alarmed at the fact that the drug is considered to be a toxin, but there is no reason for concern. For more than a decade now, dermatologists have been using this drug to treat wrinkles. There have been no serious side effects reported.

Additionally, some people have found this treatment to be useful in helping with sweating of the armpits, along with calf and jaw muscle hypertrophy. This treatment is not limited to use on the face only. Still, the most common purpose that it gets used for is to enhance the appearance of the face and make a person appear to be younger. Botox has become very popular thanks to celebrities, since most of them have no problems admitting that they have it done regularly. People seem to put a lot of trust in celebrities, and famous people are responsible for a lot of trends that occur in today s culture.

Should you decide to get Botox in the Woodlands, you will receive an injection of the treatment with a super fine needle. You will choose a certain area for the injection to be focused on. There will be little to no discomfort experienced for the duration of the procedure. Your muscles basically get weakened or paralyzed, and sometimes there will be specific nerves blocked. The result is that you will see a marked improvement in your wrinkles with the temporary inactivity of those particular muscles. The whole procedure only takes just a few minutes. The actual results will be seen in up to 7 days, in which your face will look as young as if you had lost several years of your age. Many times people try to look younger by using all of the most expensive lotions and creams on the market. However, in order to get results from these products you have to use them every single day, and they still won t give you the same results as Botox will.

Most of the time, the results you get won t go away completely for about 4 months. After that you will have to make another visit if you want to keep up the results from your last injections. Some people say that each time they get Botox, the results seem to last longer.

There are experienced and qualified professionals waiting to provide you with Botox in the Woodlands, and you can easily find them just by doing a quick search online.

Spanish trawler missing, three die in UK as storms hit northern Europe

Wednesday, January 12, 2005

As winds in the UK reach 124 mph, a Spanish fishing trawler is missing off the coast of Scotland and three people have died in northern Britain.

The UK Coastguard received an emergency beacon signal via satellite at 2330 UTC last night from a boat in the North Atlantic, 180 miles west of Scotland. No voice radio traffic had been received since the ship’s owners talked to the captain at 2030, when the crew reported that they were in difficulties and were losing power. There are 19 crew members on board, five Spansish and fourteen Portuguese. An RAF Nimrod search aircraft is due on-scene at dawn to search for the vessel.

Two lorries have been blown over. In Scotland, the lorry fell onto a car, killing the driver. In Northern Ireland, the lorry was blown off a bridge into the sea, killing the driver of the lorry. A third person died in Scotland when a van was blown into the path of an on-coming lorry.

Across Scotland, 60,000 people are without power, many roads are blocked by fallen trees, trains are not running and ferries are restricted to port. The Sellafield nuclear fuel reprocessing plant in northern England has suffered superficial damage.
